I am going to the preliminary tryouts and info meeting for National American Miss next Tuesday. I am someone who absolutely does not believe in pageants, but this one is not a beauty pageant. There is no swimsuit, no modeling, and if your under 12 your not allowed to wear make-up. The finals are in Disneyland which would of course be so fun, but my main incentive is the college scholarships. You can win so much money in scholarships, that I couldn't pass up a chance to try out. Wish me luck:)

Kara - I noticed your post here about going to the open call next Tuesday for National American Miss. I just wanted to let you know that your comments about how this program is different are so true! I think you are going to be very happy with what you see at the open call. Of course you can check out their website but there are some great blogs out there too that follow some of the past contestants from NAMiss. One of them is www.NAMissExperience.blogspot.com.
